The fifth fastest is the Volkswagen ID. R, an electric race car driven by Romain Dumas that posted a lap time of 43.05 seconds. The fourth spot belongs to the Gould-Cosworth GR51 with Graeme Wight Jr. behind the wheel, who recorded a time of 42.9 seconds.
The third fastest is the McLaren-Mercedes MP4/13 driven by Nick Heidfeld, completing the Hillclimb in 41.6 seconds. The VW ID. R and Romain Dumas also set the second fastest time with a 39.9-second run, beating the McLaren F1 car’s 20-year record by 1.7 seconds.
And last year, the McMurthy Speirling, a rapid electric vehicle, was driven by Max Chilton, who claimed the fastest Hillclimb run ever with a time of 39.08 seconds.
Let’s see if anyone can go even quicker this year.
