On the infotainment front, the Premium receives a high-resolution touchscreen and dual USB-A ports. For $1,165, Subaru offers a package with blind spot detection, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Other nice-to-haves include a power-operated tailgate and USB-A charge ports for second-row occupants.
If you’re looking for a more rugged Forester, perhaps the $31,665 Sport trim is for you. This grade comes equipped with black 18-inch wheels and gloss black exterior trim. Bright orange accents can be found on the roof rails and body cladding while, inside, orange contrast stitching enlivens the gray-colored cloth upholstery.
Forester Sport models receive Subaru SI-DRIVE with driving modes. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) also gains steering wheel-mounted paddle “shifters” for a more engaging drive. Automatic emergency steering, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert form part of the standard equipment.
The Sport has an optional $1,645 package with a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, reverse automatic braking, and an eight-inch Multimedia Plus infotainment system.
