We’re on the ground at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and if nothing else, it’s going to be a spectacle. We missed out on the opening ceremony, but from the number of celebrities we’ve seen so far, this will be the Cringe Grand Prix times 10.
But we’re not here for the celebrities. CarBuzz is in attendance with Pirelli to watch the racing, and that’s it. If we can get a selfie with Guenther Steiner, we will go for it; otherwise, it’s about the track action.
This Grand Prix is unlike anything we’ve seen in at least two years. The last time a high-speed street circuit was introduced was absolute chaos. And even though both championships are already wrapped up, we can’t help but feel that the teams will be putting on a proper show for the crowds.
Along with that comes all sorts of new dangers the teams have never faced, which should make this the best or worst Grand Prix this year. The first session of Free Practice was abandoned due to loose manhole cover frames, so things are already looking treacherous before we even go racing.
Here are six potential problems the F1 teams may face this weekend.
