Lamborghini Unveils The Huracán Sterrato At Art Basel

Lamborghini recently unveiled its all-new Huracán Sterrato at Art Basel in Miami Beach, the first super sports car from Lamborghini specifically designed for both the streets and loose or dirt surfaces. The Huracán Sterrato reinterprets the very concept of sportiness and emphasizes Lamborghini’s brand principles of brave, authentic, and unexpected.

“True to our values as a visionary, bold and unconventional brand, with the Sterrato we are breaking new ground in driving sensations,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini. “Presenting the car at Art Basel in Miami reflects how, just like an avant-garde work of art, the Sterrato represents a radical and original interpretation of the super sports car concept but, in terms of performance, the Sterrato belongs in the world’s most dynamic and exciting driving environments.”

Boasting a 5.2-liter V10 engine combined with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Huracán Sterrato features electronically controlled all-wheel drive with a rear mechanical self-locking differential. Designed for exceptional performance on unpaved surfaces, it accelerates from 0 to 60 in just 3.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 160 mph.

“With the high-speed all-terrain concept of the Sterrato, we have uniquely combined the driving experience of a true super sports car and the fun of driving a rally car,” stated Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer for Lamborghini. “Lamborghini cars always deliver emotion: the Sterrato delivers a new degree of driving thrills.”

Various exterior touches express the adventurous spirit of the Huracán Sterrato. The aluminum front underbody protection, reinforced sills, rear diffuser, and wheel arches all emphasize the Sterrato’s muscularity. The classic air intake on the rear hood not only helps supply the engine with clean air when driving on dusty tracks but also provides an appealing aesthetic that enhances an already aggressive appearance.

“The Sterrato is testimony to how the Lamborghini design DNA works perfectly even with unexpected proportions,” says Mitja Borkert, Lamborghini’s Head of Design. “The Sterrato’s design translates its super sports car heritage into a new lifeform, reflecting its specific intent to deliver a truly unique and fun driving experience”.

The special-edition Huracán Sterrato will have a limited production of 1499 units and goes on sale starting in February 2023.
