Chevrolet is celebrating 70 years of iconic Corvette performance by introducing a groundbreaking new model – the 2024 E-Ray. This historic electric vehicle offers all-wheel drive and an impressive 6.2L LT2 Small Block V8 that promises exhilarating power for every journey.
“In 1953, the enthusiastic reaction to the Chevrolet Corvette concept kicked off seven decades of passion, performance, and American ingenuity,” said Mark Reuss, President of General Motors. “E-Ray, as the first electrified, all-wheel-drive Corvette, takes it a step further and expands the promise of what Corvette can deliver.”
The 2024 E-Ray combines raw power with modern conveniences to provide Corvette owners with an unforgettable driving experience. Featuring a sleek removable roof coupe and hardtop convertible model, the E-Ray utilizes electrification for maximum performance in any season—achieving top-end straight-line speed even on wet roads thanks to its eAWD system.
The E-Ray is a revolutionary sports car combining two completely different propulsion systems to provide an exhilarating driving experience. Boasting naturally aspirated V8 power and electrified responsiveness enabled by eAWD technology, this model sets itself apart from the rest with its impressive capabilities.
“Corvette has been a halo for Chevrolet since 1953,” said Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet. “E-Ray’s unprecedented blend of confidence, luxury performance, sophistication, and style provides a new reason for more people to experience Corvette.”
Setting a new benchmark for speed, the E-Ray clocks an astonishing 0 to 60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds and barrels through the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, making it the fastest production Corvette ever created.
“Corvettes must provide an exhilarating driving experience on backroads and tracks, and E-Ray nails it,” said Tadge Juechter, Executive Chief Engineer at Corvette. “The electrification technology enhances the feeling of control in all conditions, adding an unexpected degree of composure.”
The Corvette E-Ray combines the signature performance of a powerful 6.2L LT2 Small Block V8 with modern electric motor technology, delivering an impressive 495 horsepower and 470 lb-feet of torque through its rear axle while adding 160 additional horses and 125 pounds per foot courtesy of its 1.9 kWh battery pack in the front. This power combination produces a revised total output of 655 horsepower.
Additional features and technologies of the all-new E-Ray include:
- Stealth Mode
- Standard Brembo Carbon Ceramic brake system
- Standard Magnetic Ride Control 4.0
- Staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires
- Visceral sound experience that works in harmony with the LT2 engine to create an invigorating sound
- Driver assistance technologies, including Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Automatic Emergency Braking
E-Ray Performance App provides drivers with a comprehensive understanding of their vehicle’s propulsion system. The infotainment platform allows for three distinct display formats, each transcending conventional gauges and interfaces to craft an intuitive experience like no other, including:
- Gauges, which display dynamic power output from the electric motor and V8 engine
- Dyno, which provides a graph of power/torque across selectable time intervals
- Data, which showcases the electrical system’s performance and efficiency
Sharing its proportions with the Z06, the E-Ray boasts an alluring wide-body silhouette for a thrilling ride. It is specially outfitted with lightweight alloy wheels featuring an exclusive five-spoke star design to maximize torque delivery – bridging the gap between power and control.
“There’s never been a Corvette like E-Ray, and its sophisticated design reflects that,” said Phil Zak, Executive Design Director for Global Chevrolet. “It starts with the body color trim, which draws your full attention to the exotic proportions of the E-Ray. The interiors allow customers to reflect their individual personalities with their choice of color executions that provide a refined or dynamic sport look and feel.”
The innovative Corvette E-Ray takes customization to the next level with its revolutionary Artemis Dipped interior. This eye-catching design features a spectrum of deep green tones across nearly every surface, giving drivers an unrivaled personal touch in their vehicle. Additional interior options include two carbon fiber trim packages and more than seven colors sure to fit any style or preference.
Set to go on sale this year, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray has a starting MSRP of $104,295 for the 1LZ coupe, with the 1LZ convertible model starting at $111,295.
