According to Colorado legislation, the special license plate requires two one-time fees of $25, aside from the standard fees one must pay when registering a vehicle. These fees will be funneled into the licensing services cash fund, with the other to be distributed to the highway users tax fund.
Just about every vehicle is eligible to receive the plate. This includes motorcycles and passenger cars, along with noncommercial vehicles, RVs, and motor homes. Trucks with an empty weight of less than 16,000 lbs can also wear the motorsport-inspired plates.
We don’t see regular commuters forking out the extra cash for this, but motorsport lovers may jump at the opportunity. It would certainly look good on a Porsche 911 painted in white or blue, for example.
