Volvo and Polestar have not made any specific claims about when their cars will be able to perform Level 3 self-driving, as Mercedes-Benz has beat the Swedish automakers to the punch on that front. Mercedes L3 technology will be highly limited when it launches though, only working in the state of Nevada at speeds of up to 45 mph. Unlike any existing L2+ system, Mercedes Drive Pilot will allow drivers to perform secondary tasks (such as reading).
