This 5-door Jimny is actually a handmade miniature model [Video]

Maruti Suzuki unveiled the Jimny 5-door at the Auto Expo this year. The bookings for this all-new SUV have already started and the SUV will be officially launched in the next couple of months. There are many examples of modified Suzuki Jimny 3-door SUVs from around the world and none of them are from India. This would soon change after Maruti launches the Jimny in India. We have seen several miniature models featured on our website before and here we have a Suzuki Jimny 5-door miniature that looks like a real car.

The video has been shared by vandi_company on their Instagram page. In this short reel video that is now being circulated online shows how the finished product is looking. The video does not show how the miniature model was actually made. The Jimny was actually showcased at the Auto Expo and it has not yet reached dealerships across the country. It is quite possible that the person or the artist who made this miniature model referred images to make this car.

From the looks of it, the artist has used Forex sheets to make the body of the SUV. The body panels and details to the panels like the front grille, headlamps and the proportion look to the mark. It looks like the artist would have made the panels individually and then later used glue to stick them together. The front wheels of this Jimny can turn left and right just like a normal car. The overall proportion of the vehicle looks great. The original Jimny 5-door will be offered with 15 inch alloy wheels or steel rims however, the miniature model seen here gets chunky-looking off-road spec tyres.

The tyres are also probably made using the same material as the body. Details regarding the material used in the vehicle are currently not available. Once the body work was done, the artist painted the wheels and the body of the SUV. He painted the car in a shade that looks similar to the Kinetic Yellow shade that is available with Jimny. The front grille was finished in black and the SUV even got LED headlights and strobe lights on the bumper.

The Jimny 5-door is a much more practical version of the Jimny which was available on sale in the international market. India is the first market to get the 5-door version of Jimny. When launched, it will be the only SUV in Maruti India’s line up to come with a proper 4×4 system. The SUV is powered by a 1.5 litre, K15B series naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 103 Ps and 136 Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine that is already available with the 3-door version. The engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Maruti Suzuki has already received over 15,000 bookings for Jimny 5-door and the numbers are expected to go up even more. The SUV will compete with Mahindra Thar which is a popular SUV in the country.
