Hyundai Reveals Sportiest Design Ever For The All-New Sonata

Hyundai has unveiled the design for the new Sonata, featuring a new badge for the eighth-generation midsize sedan that represents its sportiest design to date.

The latest Sonata goes beyond a mere facelift, transforming the image of the 2019 model and emerging as a dynamic, progressive new offering with elegant, low-lying proportions, bolder styling, and forward-thinking technology.

In line with Hyundai Motor’s “Sensuous Sportiness” design philosophy, the new Sonata introduces a fresh interpretation of the four-door coupe concept. With an exterior design inspired by the N Line, the Sonata exudes sports coupe style through its elongated hood, low front end, and fastback roofline.

The vehicle’s low-slung exterior showcases advanced automotive design, embodying “The Sportiness” through a horizontal front-end layout that incorporates Hyundai’s signature Seamless Horizon Lamp, concealed headlamps, a wide grille, and air intake for a more dynamic and aggressive appearance. The Seamless Horizon Lamp and wide-set, hidden headlamps produce a striking lighting effect, emphasizing the car’s broad stance while adding a futuristic touch.

Sharp, linear elements and smooth, supple surfaces contrast to create a dynamic design. The black garnish along the lower body rises towards the rear, endowing the Sonata with a robust character.

At the back, the new H-lights further underscore the Sonata’s high-tech image and wide stance. The swooping spoiler-shaped trunk lid and muffler-shaped rear garnish on the standard model reinforce the impression of a high-performance sports sedan, while a rear spoiler, dual twin-tip mufflers, and exclusive 19-inch wheels on the N Line further accentuate this image.

The new Sonata’s interior features a driver-centric layout that complements its sportier exterior image while incorporating delicate high-tech details reflecting future mobility sensibility, supporting contemporary lifestyles.

 All-New Hyundai Sonata Interior

For the first time in a Hyundai model, the Sonata boasts a panoramic curved display combining 12.3-inch driver information clusters and a 12.3-inch AVN infotainment system in a modern, minimalist dashboard layout that emphasizes horizontal lines and an expanded sense of space. The touch-type climate control unit applied to the instrument panel enhances the high-tech atmosphere.

The interior has undergone extensive upgrades to improve the passenger experience, with sophisticated color combinations that elevate sportiness and premium character.

The “floating” theme of the Sonata’s interior creates a futuristic ambiance. The column-type shift-by-wire controller behind the steering wheel allows for additional space in the center console. The center console is improved with a palm rest that extends the armrest to the palm of the hand. A large-sized cup holder and tray offers added convenience.

The new Sonata will debut publicly at the Seoul Mobility Show from March 30th to April 9th, 2023.
