Toyota Innova Hycross G & Gx variant in a detailed comparison video

Toyota launched the new generation Innova Hycross in India earlier this year. Just like the previous generation, the all-new Hycross has also become popular among customers in a short span of time, with the MPV now having a long waiting period. If you are planning to buy an Innova Hycross and make a booking, you will have to wait until 2025. The non-hybrid petrol versions of the Innova Hycross have a waiting period as long as 6-7 months. The non-hybrid versions of the Innova Hycross are available in G and Gx trims. Here, we have a detailed comparison video where these two variants are compared.

The video has been uploaded by The Car Show on their YouTube channel, where the vlogger talks about all the differences between the G and GX variants of the Innova Hycross. The white colour MPV seen here is the G variant, and the Blackish Ageha Glass flake coloured model is the GX. The price for the G variant is Rs 18.55 lakh, ex-showroom, while the GX is priced at Rs 19.45 lakh, ex-showroom. Both these variants are available with captain seats and bench seat configurations for second-row passengers.

Starting with the front, both variants get all-LED headlamps, with halogen turn indicators integrated inside the cluster. The front grille design remains the same, and there are no chrome outlines around it. The bumper design also remains the same, and it misses out on the fog lamp feature. As we move to the side profile, the G variant gets 16-inch steel rims, while the GX comes with 16-inch alloy wheels. The ORVMs are electrically adjustable on both variants; however, only the GX version gets the feature to fold it electrically. The turn indicators are integrated into the ORVMs in both variants.

Both MPVs come with a keyless entry feature, and as we move to the rear, they both come with the same-looking rear design with a shark fin antenna. The car comes with four rear parking sensors as standard across all variants. The GX variant gets a rear parking camera, which is not available in the other variant. The vlogger then shows the interior of the G variant. The G variant seen here gets captain seats in the second row. The interior space remains the same as any other version. However, it misses out on features like a touchscreen infotainment screen, audio controls on the steering wheel, silver accents on the door panel, and so on.

The seat covers are made from fabric material. It continues to get an electronic parking brake, automatic transmission, and lots of storage space. The GX variant gets a touchscreen, audio controls, connected car features, SOS button on the roof lamp, and all other features seen in the lower variant. The MPV comes with a non-hybrid petrol engine, and both variants use a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 172 Bhp and 209 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a CVT gearbox only. The Toyota Innova Hycross is very different from the Innova Crysta, as Toyota is not offering a diesel engine option with the Hycross. In order to cater to the needs of the people, Toyota had reintroduced Innova Crysta with a diesel engine and manual gearbox option.
