Many manufacturers in the automotive world are racing to expand and perfect an all-electric lineup as the industry begins to shift focus toward electric vehicles rather than combustion, and in that race, Mercedes-Benz is a strong contender. With a rapidly expanding family of EQ electric vehicles, Mercedes-Benz is preparing itself for a new chapter in the automotive industry, and its results for the first quarter of 2023 seem to indicate that the historic and quintessential name in automotive luxury is making a safe bet as to what its future should look like.
Since the first quarter of 2022, 3 new models have been introduced to the market in Mercedes-Benz’s all-electric lineup. Having started with the EQS Sedan, Mercedes-Benz now offers the EQS SUV, the EQB entry-level model, and the EQE Sedan. With these new models in the group, Mercedes-Benz has proudly announced that it has more than tripled its quarterly electric vehicle sales this past quarter compared to Q1 2022, going from 2,091 to 7,341. In addition, the group of Mercedes-Benz’s most luxurious vehicles, described as Top-End, increased by 18% at 24,572 sales for the quarter, with Mercedes-AMG increasing by 55% as well. With electric vehicles, exquisite luxury, and high performance in its ethos, Mercedes-Benz seems to be set for success.
