Porsche Carrera GT Finished In Speedster Blue Is A Low Mileage Stunner

The Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7-liter V10 engine, originally developed to be raced in a Le Mans prototype car. It produces 603 horsepower at 8,000 rpm along with 435 lb-ft of torque, making it, with a few changes made for emissions and noise rules, a poster child for a race engine for the road. Even with the sound suppression used to make it street-legal, it’s an awesome-sounding car.

It was also the first car to use pure carbon fiber for its monocoque chassis and subframe. The car weighed just 3,042 pounds (almost 200 pounds less than a BMW 3 Series coupe of the same era).

Even by current supercar standards, the performance figures are supercar standard, with a 0-62mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 206mph. The big difference is that the Carrera GT had minimal driver aids, even for the time, and only came with a six-speed manual transmission.
