We expect that the electric Escalade will run on the same Ultium architecture that underpins the GMC Hummer EV, which could mean three motors and up to 1,000 horsepower. However, such figures would step on the toes of the Escalade-V, which was only revealed a year ago. That being said, you don’t usually buy an Escalade to go fast; you buy it to be comfortably ensconced in luxury and tech. The Lyriq fulfills that role somewhat, but it’s too small for those accustomed to Escalade levels of real estate.
As for styling, we’re not expecting many surprises. Since the nameplate has been a staple of the lineup for years and an electric variant is meant to appeal to existing customers, it’s quite possible that the Escalade EV will look a lot like the gas-powered one.
