Modified Mahindra Bolero Invader with Scorpio engine is an off-road beast [Video]

Mahindra has always been a manufacturer known for making rugged-looking SUVs. Even today, the manufacturer offers products like the Thar 4×4 SUV and Scorpio N in the market. There are older Mahindra Thar SUVs that are very popular among off-road enthusiasts, with many of them being modified for off-roading purposes. We have featured several modified examples of Mahindra SUVs in the past. Apart from the Thar, we have also come across MUVs like the Bolero getting custom modifications. Here, we have a video from KAM Customs that showcases a modified Bolero Invader with a Scorpio engine.

The video has been uploaded by Kam Customs on their YouTube channel. It is actually a montage of the Bolero Invader, showcasing all the modifications. The first thing one would notice about this SUV is the new color. The entire vehicle has been repainted in a Sunset Orange shade. The stock front grille on this 2006 model SUV has been replaced with a Stinger Concept grille.

Mahindra had once showcased the Stinger, a factory-customized Bolero camper, and the grille on this SUV is similar to that. Not only the grille, but the stock rectangular headlamps have also been modified. They have been replaced with aftermarket round projector LED units. The stock bumper on this Bolero Invader has also been modified. It now features off-road spec bumpers with integrated fog lamps and a bull bar at the front. Additionally, a 12,000 lbs electronic winch has been installed at the front.

The bonnet of this SUV has a scoop, and a snorkel from Mahindra customizations has also been installed. Moving to the side profile, the original steel rims on the Bolero Invader have been replaced with aftermarket units. The new set of wheels is specifically designed for off-road use. The 15-inch rims are wrapped with Maxxis Bighorn off-road tires. It is unclear whether the SUV has been lifted to achieve an imposing look on the road or if it’s solely due to the new tires. The SUV is a 2-door model, and there is a metal footboard to facilitate entry and exit.

The Bolero Invader also features a rally cabin style that complements the car. If you recall, the Invader used to come with a partial soft top. The seats inside the cabin are from a Mahindra XUV500 SUV. On the roof, there is a 51-inch-long LED lightbar. The fender flares at the rear give it a wider appearance. One of the main changes in this SUV is the engine. The stock engine in this Invader has been replaced with a 2.6 SZ engine from the Mahindra Scorpio.

In this video, the Mahindra Bolero Invader is seen performing well on hilly terrains. It is unclear whether it has a 4×4 system. From the video, it appears that the Invader is currently a rear-wheel-drive SUV designed to resemble an off-roader. However, there is a possibility that it may be transformed into a proper 4×4 in the future. The modifications on this Bolero have been done by KAM Customs, located in Mangalore, Karnataka. The exact cost and time required for this project are not known.
