A new rumor suggests the BMW M2 (G87) will receive a healthy power boost in 2024, according to Bimmerpost forum user ynguldyn. The smallest M car, powered by BMW’s 3.0-liter straight-six S58 motor, will reportedly be upgraded to produce 475 horsepower. Currently, this model is rated at 453 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.
That’s a substantial increase of 22 horses, although ynguldyn does not mention additional torque. Interestingly, this power increase doesn’t signal the arrival of the Competition or CS model and is expected to be part of a model update.
This more muscular model is expected to arrive in August 2024, with exterior styling changes and an additional color for an existing wheel design. This is yet to be confirmed by BMW, but the source has previously made accurate predictions on future BMW updates.
