Hyundai recently launched its entry-level SUV, Exter, in the market. This micro SUV has already started reaching dealerships, and deliveries have also commenced. A detailed review of this all-new SUV, which rivals the Tata Punch, is available on our website and YouTube channel. Compared to the Tata Punch, Hyundai is offering a lot more in terms of features, safety, and build quality, showing great confidence in this new product. However, there are no official Global NCAP figures for this SUV yet.

There’s a video circulating on Prateek Singh’s YouTube channel showing a brand new Exter crashing into a divider after losing control. The incident occurred in Gujarat. In the video, a brand new Hyundai Exter SUV can be seen beached on the road divider. It is unclear whether it was a test drive vehicle or a car delivered to a customer. From the video, it appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the divider on the right-hand side.

In the images circulating online, a bus is visible on the other side of the road. The Exter’s bonnet appears to have collided with the bus before coming to a stop. There’s a small dent on the bonnet of the Exter. In the videos, people are seen helping the driver get the vehicle out of the median. Apart from the minor dent on the bonnet, there isn’t much to comment on in this video. It seems to be a very minor accident, likely caused by careless driving. The road on which the car was being driven appears to have been wet due to rain, possibly causing the car to skid. The exact reason behind this accident is currently not known. The video also fails to mention whether the occupants in the car were injured in any manner or not.

However, this video doesn’t prove anything about the build quality of the vehicle. It’s merely a minor accident. The Hyundai Exter is launched at an introductory price of Rs 5.99 lakh, ex-showroom, with the top-end SX(O) variant priced at Rs 9.31 lakh, ex-showroom. It’s available with a petrol engine option only, powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that generates 83 Ps and 113 Nm of peak torque. The Hyundai Exter comes with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. Additionally, it offers a factory-fitted CNG kit generating 69 Ps and 95 Nm of torque.

Like any Hyundai product, the Exter is equipped with a long list of features, including an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, twin camera dash camera in higher variants, and paddle shifters in the AMT version. The Exter also boasts 14-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED DRLs, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, and many more features. It directly competes with cars like Tata Punch and Citroen C3 in the segment. Tata recently announced that they have started production of the Punch CNG.
