By now, the Rimac Nevera has established itself as the production car drag racing king, but what happens when you put it up against a McMurtry Speirling and a Red Bull Formula 1 car?
This three-way race has to count as one of the most captivating in history, primarily because of how different the cars are. The Rimac Nevera is essentially an all-electric hypercar with a quad-motor setup that produces 1,914 horsepower and 1,740 lb-ft of torque. It has a bit of aerodynamic trickery but nothing like the other two cars in this race. It weighs 5,100 pounds.
The McMurtry Speirling is a one-seater track car with two electric motors producing 1,000 hp, all of which is sent to the rear wheels. But the ace up its sleeve is the massive fan, producing more than 4,000 lbs of downforce from a standing start. It weighs just under 2,200 lbs.
The Red Bull dates back to 2012. It’s Sebastian Vettel’s championship-winning RB8, powered by an 800-hp 2.4-liter V8, and it weighs around 1,500 lbs with the driver included.
