Lotus Planning High-Performance Track-Only Type 133 Derivative

“There may be an LAP variant of that car in the future,” he told us at a private motorsport event. Croft didn’t elaborate too much on that, though, as LAP is currently knee-deep in other developments, primarily the launch of the Type 66, the roll-out of the roadgoing Evija hypercar, and the development of the Evija X.

The latter is going to be a track-only version of the Evija, which may set the tone for the LAP version of the Type 133. The electric Lotus sedan is rumored to be called the Envya, so in LAP form may carry the Envya X moniker. The question is whether it will become a track-only special or not.

This seems likely, as the standard version will hardly be short on power and performance. The Envya is expected to leverage much of the same technology employed in the Eletre SUV, meaning as much as 905 horsepower and 726 lb-ft of torque on tap from a dual-motor setup. That’s in range-topping R configuration, with 603 hp available in lower trims.
