Caravan and motorhome culture in India are still not very popular. Post-pandemic, we have seen a rise in the number of people converting their cars into motorhomes for road trips. In most cases, people do not make changes that require expert help. They install an inflatable bed and a cabin to store food items in the trunk. However, there is another group of people who actually buy a car and completely modify it into a caravan. There are garages and workshops that excel at this work, and Motorhome Adventures is one of the leading names among them. This 25+ year-old company has been converting trucks and travelers into caravans for years now. One of their recent projects is based on a Tata Yodha, which comes with a hardtop caravan.

The video has been shared by Motorhome Adventures on their YouTube channel. In this video, the presenter talks about the features, materials used, and also the dimensions of the caravan. The donor car in this project was a Tata Yodha pickup truck. The owner did not opt for any customizations on the cab. The front of the truck remains stock. The whole car has been painted in gunmetal grey with black stripes at places. This gives the car a very rugged and outdoorsy look. The driver’s cabin is untouched, and coming to the side, there is a repositioned fuel inlet along with a storage space and a plug point to connect the caravan to an external power source. There are sliding windows on both sides, and we also see an inlet for the 270-liter fresh water tank.

The caravan is actually 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide. The shell of the caravan is made from auto-grade aluminum. There are marker lamps at the front and rear of the caravan. The original bed of the Yodha was removed for this project, and a custom flat bed was created to build this space. There are options available where the customer can opt for slide-in caravans where they don’t have to remove the original bed or trunk.

At the rear, there are two spare wheels, and the caravan gets steel rims with 16-inch thick-profile tires. There is a ladder placed at the back to access the roof. The same can be accessed via a hatch inside the cabin. There are three 100 Ah batteries neatly tucked on the lowered part of the caravan. Two of them power the caravan, while one is used by the vehicle itself. The owner also opted for a barbecue counter, which comes with points to access fresh water and gas. In order to access the cabin, there is a foldable ladder. The floor is done using vinyl, while the roof gets pine wood panels with integrated LED lights in it. There is a full-size mirror installed on the washroom door.

The bathroom gets an FRP toilet, sink, and other amenities. Next to the bathroom is a space to keep your luggage and clothes. This caravan is meant for 2 people, and it is designed in such a manner. There is a Korean kitchen top with an FRP sink and stove. A microwave is placed on the overhead storage, and several compartments have been made under the car to store food items. There is a refrigerator neatly placed under the sofa. The driver cabin can be accessed from the rear too. The bed is placed in such a manner that it can be extended to make space for two people. The caravan does look very neat, and the exact cost of this build is not mentioned in the video, as every project is different due to the customer’s choice.
