To ensure this is not mistaken as a posh X1, the new X2 gets model-specific LED headlights and refreshed taillights, each incorporating a double arrow motif instead of the traditional semi-circles of BMWs of yore. The kidney grilles, with their hexagonal outline, draw inspiration from the X4 and X6, and this can be illuminated like on the 7 Series and other recent Bimmers as an option.
The lower section of the car features a black wraparound accent that can be matched with optional gloss black roof rails, and the rear end adds fake vents along with reflectors to create a sportier appearance. Flush door handles smooth the profile.
On the M35i version, a quad-exit exhaust layout complements the M wing mirrors. A sporty tailgate spoiler and a second, Gurney-style spoiler below the rear window complete the aggressive look. At the front of the M-lite model, horizontal dual-slat kidney bars once again borrow from the full-fat M catalog.
