If that doesn’t sound crazy enough, Toyota will unveil a concept designed to be used “on the moon and in outer space.” Dubbed Space Mobility, the buggy-looking prototype has an electric motor on each wheel, providing better traction in unpredictable extraterrestrial environments. Toyota claims the concept can navigate boulders up to 20 inches tall and climb steep 25-degree slopes.
However, this isn’t the first time Space Mobility has been uncovered. Last year, Toyota demonstrated the prototype’s capabilities, including a four-wheel steering similar to the crabwalk of the GMC Hummer EV. This joins the Lunar Cruiser in the brand’s peculiar yet interesting outer space portfolio.
