Toyota is clearly laying the foundation for an extensive lineup of electrified models, with a goal to reach a total production of over 30 GWh annually by 2030. Although the bZ4X remains the only Toyota EV on sale in the USA currently, the company has multiple hybrid models.
By 2025, every Toyota and Lexus model globally will have an electrified option. Not all Toyota’s future electrified models are family-friendly SUVs and sedans, as news emerged days ago that the FT-Se sports car concept could go into production before the end of the decade.
“Today’s announcement reinforces Toyota’s commitment to electrification and carbon reduction, bringing jobs and future economic growth to the region,” said Sean Suggs, president of Toyota North Carolina. “We are excited to see the continued energy and support of this innovative manufacturing facility.”
