The Nash Metropolitan—built from 1954 to 1962—sported the trendy two-tone, chrome-laden, tail-fin styling of the era, but unlike contemporaries such as the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado, the Metropolitan packed this design into an affordable, subcompact package. Instead of embracing the cute look of the original, this 1957 Metropolitan, nicknamed “Nashole” by builder Greg Salzillo, goes a completely different direction.

The wheels sit outboard from the body, giving it a mean stance, the roof is chopped by 4 inches, and most of the chrome has been removed. It also rides on a custom chassis and is now powered by a roughly 300-hp Chevy small-block V-8, with the charming dice perched atop serving as the engine’s air filter. This car went on to win the Hot Wheels Legends Tour and became immortalized in 1/64th scale.
