Hyundai aims to deliver improved agility and reduced vibrations through a reinforced engine mount membrane, while G-bushing reinforcement and revamped S/ABS insulation enhance damping, steering, and yaw responses. The Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) features an updated software optimized for braking and hardware changes.
To complement these changes, the tolerances of the steering system’s gearbox have been enhanced for a more direct feel. At the same time, a low-friction universal joint has been added to increase precision. This is partnered with updated software for the electronically assisted steering system. Even the tire pressures have been raised for higher front-axle loads.
Under the hood, the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four delivers 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque. Engaging the N-Grin overboost mode – also found in the electric Ioniq 5 N – drivers can enjoy an extra 10 ponies, bringing the total to 286 hp for short bursts.
