If you love cricket like most Indians, you don’t need much of an introduction to who Ravi Shastri is. The former player and coach of the Indian cricket team played a crucial role in many matches. If you’ve been following our website for a while, you’d know that Ravi Shastri even won an Audi 100 in 1985 after beating Pakistan. The car was actually restored by the Super Car Club Garage (SCCG), operated by Gautam Singhania, Chairman and MD of Raymond Group. An image of Ravi Shastri has now surfaced online, where the former cricketer is seen posing next to an Audi RS5.
Ravi Shastri is seen sitting on the bonnet of an Audi RS5 Sportback, pointing a finger at the badge that reads RS5. The picture was taken in Ahmedabad, and Ravi Shastri wrote a witty caption for it too. He wrote, “In Ahmedabad. Just checking this RS 5. (Ravi Shastri 5). She’s an absolute beauty. Soon Coming…” Ravi Shastri is actually pointing at the Racing Sport 5 badge on the grille and completely replaced it with his own name that has the same abbreviations. He calls it Ravi Shastri 5.
It looks like Ravi Shastri really liked the Audi RS5, and he also hints in the post that he might be coming back soon to buy one for himself. The Audi RS5 Sportback is a 4-door sports coupe. It is an extremely good-looking car, and it wouldn’t be wrong to call it one of the best-looking Audi cars on sale in the market. It has a very muscular-looking front bumper, headlamps, and a wide front grille with the RS5 badge on it. The car has a coupe-like roof, frameless or pillar-less doors, a fastback design at the rear, large alloy wheels, and so on.
Just like any expensive or luxury car, the Audi RS 5 also offers a variety of features to its buyers. The cabin looks similar to other Audi cars; however, the manufacturer has made changes to differentiate it from others. The interior of the car gets elements that give the occupant a hint that it is not your regular Audi. The car has a metal carbon fiber band that runs across the cabin. Other than that, it also gets RS badging on seats, the bottom of the steering, and many other places. The car is offered with a company-fitted infotainment screen that displays a variety of information. The fully digital instrument cluster is also included in it.
The Audi RS5 offers features like a massager function for front seats. The door pads and steering get Alcantara, panoramic sunroof, Parking Aid Plus, wireless phone charging, electrically actuated pneumatic lumbar support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone climate control, seats finished in Alcantara and leather, ventilated seats, and many more features.
Coming to the engine and transmission options, the Audi RS5 is powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine co-developed with Porsche. This sports coupe generates 450 PS and 600 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Like many other Audi models, the RS 5 also offers the popular Quattro system, which sends 60 percent of the power to the rear wheels in normal conditions. The price for a brand new Audi RS5 Sportback is around Rs 1.15 crore, ex-showroom. We hope to see Ravi Shastri behind the wheel of his RS5 soon.
