The safety recall report stated that no warning will be displayed, considering the nature of the failure mechanism.
As for the remedy, authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships will check the affected units’ bolt torque for ground connection and rework it if necessary. Dealers will be notified on December 15, 2023, while owners will be notified of the voluntary recall campaign before February 6, 2024.
Last year, Mercedes-Benz finished fourth on the list of automakers with the most recalls, affecting nearly a million units. The latest recall shouldn’t severely affect the overall number for 2023 once the tally is in. Ford is still the automaker with the most recalls for this year.
