Kia Unveils Five New Electric Commercial Vehicle Concepts At CES 2024

All PBV vehicles will be equipped with a rail system on the floor, side panels, and ceilings; this allows each vehicle to be customized to the user’s needs and means goods can be seamlessly transferred from one vehicle to another.

Production of the PBV vehicles will kick off in 2025 at a new plant at the Hwaseong site in South Korea. Initially, the automaker hopes to produce around 100,000 vehicles annually, with plans to increase this to 150,000 units.

“The Kia PBV business is the pinnacle of our customer-centric business approach. With the aim of developing PBVs and solutions tailored to their business environments, we are confident that these strong partnerships will be a driving force on the road to becoming a sustainable mobility solutions provider,” commented Pierre-Martin Bos, VP and Director of PBV.

Kia has previously said these new vehicles will use the eS skateboard platform. Eventually, we can expect an array of vehicles, including those large enough to serve as mobile offices or stores.
