Reports suggest the racecar will be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric motor, producing as much as 1,000 horsepower. Last September, a prototype of the Lexus/Toyota supercar was spied at the Motegi Circuit in Japan, and the eight-pot mill sounded nothing short of glorious.
Not all unearthed trademark filings from automakers are meant for production cars, though, with some assumed for other products like an ad campaign. Perhaps the best-case scenario for fans of the two brands would be an initial launch of a Toyota GR GT, followed by a Lexus derivative believed to be called the LFR.
Alternatively, a Vision Gran Turismo concept could be in the pipeline. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long to find out for sure.
