After giving us the good news earlier this month that the gorgeously retro P72 has been greenlit for production, De Tomaso has now provided a closer look at the cabin, specifically the exquisite shifter and its exposed linkage mechanisms. And what a shifter it is. Reminiscent of Pagani’s own mechanical switchgear, a Faberge egg, or [insert your favorite intricate artwork here], the P72’s polished copper gear lever is delicately engraved with the De Tomaso logo, as well as a diamond pattern.
“The design of the P72 shifter is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of our team,” says the automaker, whetting our appetites for what more is yet to be revealed in detail.
With just 72 units to be made, De Tomaso will take its time to ensure that every car will be beautifully finished, and we’re positive that a plethora of bespoke finishes and materials (beyond what has now been shown here) will be offered to each buyer. At €750,000 (roughly $815,000), anything less would be an insult.
