Why Honda's Hydrogen CR-V Doesn't Have To Worry About Hydrogen's Biggest Problem

Honda has previously said the hydrogen-powered CR-V will be the first North American-built vehicle to combine fuel cell technology and a plug-in system in one vehicle.

While the basic shape of the CR-V FCEV resembles a traditional CR-V, there are several changes. At the front, the radiator grille is smaller than before, with additional slots positioned just above the license plate holder. A new design was probably necessary for aerodynamic purposes, but the slots are likely there for cooling purposes. The light clusters at the rear have been treated to clear lenses, distinguishing this variant from its ICE-powered siblings.

Positioned alongside the all-electric Prologue, Honda customers will soon have a wide range of hybrid, battery-electric, and hydrogen-powered vehicles. This will expand further with Honda’s 0 Series vehicles, and the Sony Afeela premium sedan.
