We already know by now that the Land Rover Defender is a legendary SUV known for its off-road capabilities. These characteristics have not changed with the new generation SUV. We often come across videos where Defender owners are seen doing crazy stunts. Here we have a video where a Defender 110 SUV in India is pulling a trailer truck loaded with a crane.

The video has been shared by Motorbeam on their Instagram page. The video was posted last year, and it happened somewhere in Rajasthan. As seen here in the video, the Land Rover SUV is actually pulling the fully loaded truck and trailer. It is not clear whether the truck encountered some issue or if this was just some publicity stunt.
The truck was carrying a crane in the trailer, which is an extremely heavy piece of machinery. The Land Rover Defender is an extremely capable SUV, but it is not invincible or indestructible. The Land Rover Defender 110 seen here has a towing capacity of 3720 kilograms. We are pretty sure that the truck alone weighs more than that.
The truck and the trailer, along with the crane loaded on the trailer, would easily weigh over 10-15,000 kilograms. This means the Land Rover Defender is being pushed to its limits while doing this stunt.
Pulling such a heavy load would directly put pressure on the engine and gearbox, and the chances of damaging it are pretty high. We really hope the owner of this Defender didn’t encounter any issues like that because repairing an SUV like the Defender is going to be an expensive affair.
There is another possibility that the Defender driver was simply assisting the truck, which was struggling to climb up. We say that because there are two trucks behind the trailer. In that case, the Defender alone doesn’t have to put in all the effort to bring the truck and trailer up. These are just assumptions as we do not have complete information related to the incident. Despite being heavy, the Defender did manage to pull it, and it doesn’t look like the SUV lost traction anywhere.
The Land Rover Defender is an extremely popular SUV among celebrities in India because of its imposing looks. It manages to perform brilliantly off-road without compromising on the comfort quotient. That is what makes it more appealing to buyers.
Land Rover offers the Defender SUV in 90, 110, and 130 variants. The 3-door version is known as the Defender 90, the 5-door version is the Defender 110, and there is a three-row version of the SUV known as the Defender 130.
The car is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The Land Rover Defender is available with 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter petrol engines, as well as a 3.0-liter diesel engine. Last year, the manufacturer also introduced a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine option for both the Defender 110 and 90 versions. The price for a brand new Defender starts at Rs 97 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 2.35 crore, ex-showroom.
