Everyone reading this post would have at least once thought of parking their car next to their bed or inside the home you live so that you can admire it all the time and also protect it. People often take extra efforts to take care of their car irrespective of its price. We have seen many who own exotic and supercars taking such care that they won’t even tolerate a small scratch on their cars. Here we have a video for such billionaires who can actually buy an apartment where there is a lift not just for people but also for their supercars.
The video has been shared by Supercar Blondie on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see the presenter driving a Porsche 911 Dakar to a building in Miami, Florida. From outside, the building looks like any other with a lot of glass area.
The presenter then talks about how this is different from others. The building was designed in collaboration with Porsche and is called Porsche Design Tower. What makes this tower special is that unlike other flats or apartments, one doesn’t have to park their cars in the basement.
They can actually drive their supercars into a lift and take it to their apartment. There are currently 22 billionaires living in this building, including famous football player Lionel Messi.
The video then demonstrates how this works. The vlogger drives the 911 Dakar into a circular glass cabin with sliding doors. The monitor inside the circle asks the driver to stop when the car is completely inside the marked area.
The glass doors then close, and the floor rotates so that the car gets aligned properly with the elevator. Once the car is aligned, the elevator door opens, and a conveyor belt slides under the car and lifts the wheels after locking it.
Once the car is in the elevator, the doors close, and the elevator starts moving up. The elevator, as seen in the video here, spins to the left and right while going up. For this video, the vlogger is taking the car to the 42nd floor.
There are actually 63 floors in total, including a penthouse. When the door opens, the car is already in the apartment. The belt under the car slides the car out and places it safely inside the apartment.
There is a partition glass between the living space of the apartment and the area where the car is. This is actually like a house where you park your car in the porch. Except in this case, it is in your house. The vlogger then shows how the apartment looks and feels on the inside. This particular apartment had space for not one but two supercars.
It is definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. There are some hotels that allow people to park their car next to their rooms, but this is the first time a residential building has allowed the same. The vlogger mentions that the technology used in the lift has been patented by Porsche and you won’t find it anywhere else. Many other manufacturers like Bentley have also started investing in such projects lately.
