The luxury coupe arrives in America with impressive standard specification.

Inside, CLE Cabriolets equipped with the AMG Line Package receive a Nappa leather-trimmed sports steering wheel with a flat bottom, AMG sports pedals in aluminum, and high gloss black/silver chrome interior accents. Of course, the customization experience doesn’t end there, with an optional Night Package, numerous paint finishes (as well as four Manufaktur hues), and various wheel designs ranging up to 20 inches in size.

Safety Features And Performance

The CLE-Class Cabriolet is the first Mercedes-Benz drop-top with two separate head airbags for the rear passengers. The vehicle has a total of 11 airbags, including one between the two front seats. As you’d expect, numerous driver-assist systems are standard, such as blind-spot monitoring, Active Brake Assist, and Attention Assist. An optional Driver Assistance Package introduces additional active safety features, such as lane-change assist, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, and more.

As a reminder, the CLE 300 4Matic is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder that develops 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The 450 4Matic receives a silky-smooth 3.0-liter inline-six with 375 hp and 369 lb-ft. Both models send power to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 450 reaches 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, with the 300 following two seconds later, but their top speeds are identical, at a limited 130 mph. Craving more power? Don’t fret, because an AMG-tuned CLE 53 is on the way. The CLE-Class Cabriolet will reach Mercedes-Benz dealers in the spring. All CLE pricing mentioned above does not include the automaker’s $1,150 destination charge.
