Billionaire businessmen from India buying new or expensive cars is not a new phenomenon. Like celebrities, some businessmen are passionate about cars and have a diverse collection that offers both comfort and driving pleasure. Adar Poonawalla, CEO of the Serum Institute of India, is one such person, and he recently bought a brand-new Ferrari Purosangue. Images of Adar’s Ferrari have now surfaced online.

The images have been shared by Automobili Ardent India on their Instagram page. In these images, we see a black Purosangue parked outside a building. If you look carefully, the car’s registration number is visible, and it is different from what we have seen so far in India. This is because Adar Poonawalla bought the car not in India but in the United Kingdom.

The car was spotted in London, according to the post. The Ferrari seen in the images is the first-ever SUV to be manufactured by the Italian car maker. It is also the most practical Ferrari ever made. Ferrari officially launched their first SUV globally in 2022, and it was launched in India last month. It is priced at around Rs. 10.5 crore, ex-showroom.

What makes this Ferrari the most practical is its design. It is a four-door SUV. The black shade seen on the SUV is probably the Nero Daytona shade. The SUV bought by Adar Poonawalla features a blacked-out exterior with yellow brake calipers. A similar black and yellow combination can be seen in the car’s interior as well.

As mentioned above, the Ferrari Purosangue is a 4-door SUV, and the rear doors are rear-hinged, which opens up more space for occupants to get in and out. These doors can be opened and closed electronically.

In an age where supercar manufacturers are moving towards turbocharged engines, Ferrari is still offering a naturally aspirated petrol engine with the Purosangue. It is probably the only car in its segment to offer a naturally aspirated engine.

The car is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 725 PS and 716 Nm of peak torque. The Ferrari Purosangue was launched in the market to compete with the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX. However, when compared to its rivals, the Ferrari is much more expensive.

Adar Poonawalla has an extensive collection of expensive cars in his garage. He is a fan of Rolls Royce cars and owns a Rolls Royce Phantom Series VIII luxury sedan. He also owns a Ferrari 488 Pista supercar and has been spotted in a Bentley Bentayga EWB luxury SUV. Adar Poonawalla is not the first Indian to own the Purosangue. If you have been following our website, you would know that Bengaluru-based real estate businessman Boopesh Reddy (Bren Garage) was the first Indian to buy this SUV.

He actually bought this Ferrari even before its official launch in India. Soon after Boopesh Reddy, the richest Indian businessman, Mukesh Ambani, also bought this multi-crore SUV. He even used this SUV to drop Shahrukh Khan at the airport during the pre-wedding celebrations of his son in Jamnagar.
