Fiat USA has announced the latest 500e special edition and the third so-called ‘drop’ of the cute city slicker: Inspired by Los Angeles. As the name indicates, this celebrates the City of Angels, a metropolis known worldwide for glamour, sunshine, wealth, and beauty.
The latest model gets several exclusive touches, including Marine Layer Mist paintwork. Fiat says this unique shade is reminiscent of the coastal marine layer that naturally occurs from May through June. The color is matched with matte gray side mirror caps and black window trim. Lastly, the exterior is finished off with a set of machined 17-inch wheels with a diamond-cut finish. Customers can choose between summer or all-season tires.

A Host Of Special Touches
The interior of the Fiat 500e Inspired by Los Angeles receives a body-color-matched instrument panel, beige eco-leather seats, and a seven-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer. The system includes four Virtual Venues that change the listening experience. This was first introduced on the 500e Inspired by Music that debuted earlier this year.

Fiat worked with legendary opera singer Andrea Bocelli, who hand-picked the Virtual Venues himself. They are Giuseppe Verdi Opera House, Open-Air Arena, My Recording Studio, and My Music Room. On the safety side, the 500e Inspired by Los Angeles receives Level 2 self-driving, which uses adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assistance to aid the driver on certain roads. The automaker says the 500e is the only vehicle in its segment to offer this feature.
Same Electric Drivetrain With 117 Horsepower
Aside from the special touches, the Inspired by Los Angeles is mechanically identical to other 500e models. Its 42 kWh battery powers a single electric motor, which produces 117 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The 500e won’t shatter any acceleration records, requiring 8.5 seconds to zip from 0-60 mph. Hopefully, the Abarth models will reach America and appease the performance-hungry crowd. Then again, it’s perfect for city driving and short commutes, making it an ideal second or third car. Fiat claims a range of 149 miles between trips to the charging station.
Hybrid Versions Of Fiat 500e and Jeep Compass To Be Built In Italy
Stellantis plans to build these news hybrids in Italian factories.
The Inspired by Los Angeles price starts at $36,000 (excluding destination). That’s rather steep for such a small car, but the 500e is well-equipped, and the price does include a Level 2 charging wall unit or charging credits. It’s worth noting that the first drop, the (RED) Edition, was cheaper at $32,500. “The new Fiat 500e Inspired By Los Angeles reflects both Italian heritage, with its classic cinquecento design theme and made-in-Turin origin, and Angeleno culture, reflected in its Marine Layer Mist color and urban mission,” said Aamir Ahmed, Head of Fiat North America.
