But Rolls-Royce has descended upon Goodwood with the antithesis of speed: bespoke luxury and British opulence. Each is a side to the same coin of automotive extremism and excellence.
This year, the Goodwood-based brand arrives with four custom commissions based on its contemporary lineup. A bespoke Phantom Extended, Ghost, Spectre, and the new Cullinan Series II will give attendees a glimpse into the rarified world of Rolls-Royce luxury.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan
Updated earlier this year, the Cullinan – the marque’s most successful product – has now evolved into a Series II model. While the styling updates won’t be to everyone’s taste, the ultra-luxury SUV also benefits from a revised interior, with an improved gauge cluster and central screen. But enough about that – what’s so special about this Bespoke example? The example on display at Goodwood wears an elegant shade called Emperador Truffle, inspired by high-end brown marble. The color was developed specifically for use on the Series II Cullinan and, in this case, has been paired with two-tone Cashmere Gray/Chartreuse leather upholstery with a Placed Perforation pattern.

Rolls-Royce Spectre
Even as demand for EVs declines, Rolls-Royce cannot keep up with demand for its first-ever electric car, the Spectre. Few vehicles are as well-suited to electrification as a Roller, with silent propulsion and effortless performance afforded by the electric motors and battery pack. The Bespoke department has worked its magic on the svelte GT car, with an elegant Peony Pearl and Black Diamond paintwork. This eccentric duotone finish has been paired with 23-inch wheels and a subtle black coachline. The exterior colors have been repeated inside, creating a striking yet cossetting environment, while adding the famed Starlight Headliner finishes things off perfectly. The Spectre will participate in the Supercar Run, and will undoubtedly look regal as it climbs the hill.

Rolls-Royce Phantom
The epitome of the Spirit of Ecstacy, the Phantom Series II is the very best the brand offers. Seen here in Extended wheelbase form, Rolls-Royce Bespoke chose to adorn the luxury limo with a two-tone paint job consisting of Diba Teal and Black Diamond, replete with a black coachline. The custom Phantom takes inspiration from the glamorous French Riviera, an area significant to the automaker’s history. Sir Henry Royce spent his winters at Villa Mimosa, his home in Le Canadel, for many years until his passing in 1933. Inside the Phantom’s Gallery – a dedicated space for the owner to display artwork – is an embroidered leather wave pattern, which took 35 hours and 47,319 stitches to complete. This is a subtle homage to the French Riviera, which had a special in Mr. Royce’s heart. Previously, Rolls-Royce has built a Phantom inspired by the Italian Riviera.

Rolls-Royce Ghost
Due to be replaced by a facelifted model, the Ghost is the smallest vehicle in the Rolls-Royce lineup, but it’s no less regal and impressive than its siblings. For the Ghost, the Bespoke department has teamed Blue Crystal with Black, with a Charles Blue coachline flowing down the sides of the vehicle. The Ghost and the other cars all contain a special ‘sound wave’ painted on the center console lid. These sound waves represent a quote from either Charles Rolls or Henry Royce, highlighting the brand’s commitment to intricate and meaningful details. This is rather apt, as 2024 marks the 120th anniversary of Messrs. Rolls and Royce meeting for the first time.
