The 2013 Sonata is a strong alternative to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. However, the 2.0L and 2.4L Theta II engines used over this time period were prone to failure, with mostly 2011 models affected. A class action lawsuit followed, and even though the 2013 models are better, we’d be wary of these cars as a used purchase for this reason alone.
