BMW's Pebble Beach Surprise Will Never Be Repeated

Key Takeaways

  • BMW reveals a one-off 2025 M5 in an exclusive Frozen Orange hue.
  • Unique interior color combination created especially for the “#1/1” – the first M5 on North American soil.
  • Over $57,000 worth of options have been fitted.
  • To be auctioned at Pebble Beach, a portion of the proceeds will benefit a charitable cause.

BMW has revealed a one-off take on the 2025 M5, created in collaboration with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It’s the first G90 M5 in North America, and if you have the cash and the inclination, you could keep it here. BMW is offering the car in a special auction with no reserve price, giving any proceeds above the vehicle’s MSRP to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the same company that organizes the prestigious annual concours event.

For the record, the M5 starts at $119,500 in the US before any options. With this one-of-one model, more than $57,000 worth of bespoke options have been fitted, and you’ll never see another M5 in this spec ever again. If you like orange, read on.

Discontinued Paint Makes This A Magical M5

The stunning finish applied to this M5 is said to be inspired by the sunsets that wash the lawns of Pebble Beach in a golden glow, and it’s called BMW Individual Frozen Orange. This matte metallic hue will never be replicated on another 2025 M5 because it was scheduled for discontinuation at BMW Plant Dingolfing even before the M5’s start of production. As a result, it had to be painted weeks in advance and kept under wraps until now. If you’re considering buying an M5 of your own and are disappointed by the unavailability of this color, allow us to direct your attention to 145 other BMW Individual hues for the M5.

The special edition integrates more orange accents in its bi-color Style 951M wheels, which measure 20 inches in front and 21 inches at the rear. Behind them, a set of M Carbon Ceramic brake calipers are finished in matte gold. A few options have also been added, including the Carbon Package which adds a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic roof panel, rear spoiler, and mirror caps. The M Driver’s Package has also been equipped, enabling the M5’s true top speed of 190 mph to be unleashed. Naturally, the cabin has been enhanced, too.

One-Off Interior Color Combo

The eye-catching exterior paint of the M5 is matched by a similarly exclusive Kyalami Orange & Silverstone Extended Merino leather upgrade, created just for the one-off and never to be repeated. Although so much has already been spent on this build, BMW hasn’t fitted the sporty M Carbon bucket seats that can be ticked on the options list. Still, these seats gain an added layer of uniqueness with headrests bearing the official Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance logo. BMW’s Carbon Fiber Silver Thread High Gloss trim adds a touch more athleticism to the cabin and also features the logo and an inscription reading “#1/1” – presumably because there wasn’t enough space to put the official name down: 2025 BMW M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1. The “#1/1” inscription also appears on the door sills.

Why The New BMW M5 Plug-In Hybrid May Be The Ultimate One-Car Garage

Gearheads always talk about the perfect 2- or even 3-car garages, but we’d wager the argument that BMW has created the perfect single-car garage.

We have no idea what this special variant will sell for, but given the environment, we don’t doubt that BMW will have plenty of high bids. The only catch is that whoever wins the final call will only get their 717-horsepower one-off delivered in October. If you don’t mind waiting and simply must have this truly unique G90, the Gooding & Company auction listing is where you’ll find all the details.
