Discussion: Would you consider moving from a German luxury car to a Genesis automobile?

If you can live with less brand recognition, there’s no reason not to consider a Genesis. These cars are impeccably built, very comfortable, and better value than the equivalents from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. However, Genesis doesn’t have a direct answer to high-performance models from BMW M and Mercedes-AMG. Would you consider switching your German car for a Genesis?

Do you think the world needs more Lincoln sedans?

It’s been four long years since Lincoln discontinued its last sedans, and it’s about time the brand reconsidered that decision. The brand has become stagnant, with the new Nautilus the only vehicle bringing any excitement to the brand, but this is barely scratching the surface of what the brand is capable of. Just look at Cadillac offering a whole lineup of compelling SUVs and sedans, not to mention the high-performance models. Lincoln has lived in Cadillac’s shadow for too long, and it’s about time the company started taking more risks again. What do you think?

Discussion: Will the 4-door convertible ever make a comeback?

It’s unlikely, due to the loss of structural integrity in even normal two-door convertibles; adding four doors exacerbates this issue. Engineering such a car to be structurally strong enough – together with all the safety equipment modern cars need, not to mention electrified powertrains – would likely make for an extremely heavy vehicle. That said, the idea of a modern convertible that can comfortably seat four adults, while allowing easy access to the back, is appealing. Do you agree?

How long are tires good for before they should be replaced?

Every tire should be replaced when the tread gets down to 2/32 inches regardless of its age. How soon that happens depends on the tire and how much you drive, but typically takes 4-5 years. Even if the tread is fine, the rubber eventually degrades making the tire unsafe. There’s no hard and fast rule, but most recommendations call for replacing tires no later than the ten-year mark even with a great tread.

Are there any cheap fast cars on the second-hand car market?

Most enthusiasts reach a point in their lives when they want something with a little more power, but unfortunately, power usually costs money. Whether you’re young or just on a budget, there are plenty of fast cars out there that can be purchased on the cheaper side. Our recommendation would be to find a used, but well-sorted Corvette or Mustang, as they’ll get your foot in the horsepower door without breaking the bank, and there are plenty out there for any budget. A fast car to you may not be a fast car to someone else, but what are some of your favorites that don’t cost a pretty penny?

Tell Us: What are your favorite funny looking cars?

I think we can all agree that sometimes automakers just don’t hit the mark with a vehicle’s looks. Sometimes it’s just one variant of that vehicle and other times it’s the model altogether, but it’s incredible so many hands can work on a model and no one in charge steps back and realizes it just isn’t good-looking. Now beauty is subjective, so take our picks with a grain of salt, but some of our favorite “ugly” vehicles have to be the Suzukie X-90, GMC Envoy XUV, and the third-generation Ford Taurus (particularly the wagon variant). What are some of your favorite ugly ducklings?
