There are some vehicles in India that have stood the test of time and have proved that they are built to last. One such vehicle is the Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep. Recently, a video of a 55-year-old Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep rescuing a Mahindra Bolero pickup truck stuck in a flash flood has been shared online. In this video, the old time-tested 4X4 SUV managed to rescue the Mahindra pick-up in the right time.
55-year-old Mahindra Jeep rescues Bolero pickup
This video of the Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep helping a Mahindra Bolero pickup truck has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Mundodi Vlogs on their channel. It starts with the creator of the video mentioning that in this video they will be rescuing a Mahindra Bolero pickup truck which got stuck in a flash flood while crossing a small river on their farm.
Following this, the video then shows this 1969 Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep getting reversed and into position to pull out the stuck pickup truck. The vlogger mentions that his father is teaching the workers on their farm how to properly tie the rope to the tow hook. He mentions that it has to be done in such a way that after the rescue mission it is easier to untie.
After this, the father of the vlogger asks four people to sit in the rear seat of the Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep. This is done to increase the weight of the Jeep which eventually helps it to maintain a better grip on the slippery road. Finally, after this, they start pulling the Bolero pickup truck from the river.
It can be noted that there were a few more men that were still pushing the Bolero pickup truck as it was unable to start. The vlogger mentions that the water managed to enter the air filter and because of this it was not firing up. Following this, it can be noted that the pickup truck was effortlessly rescued by the trusty Jeep.
Anand Mahindra had reacted to this Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep
For those who might not remember, we have already featured this Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep here on Cartoq. Back in 2019, the same family shared a video of them celebrating the 50th birthday of this car. Even Mahindra Boss Anand Mahindra reacted to this event on X in 2019. This particular Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep was bought by the family back in 1969 and ever since then it has remained in their home.
As per the family, this car has been fully restored by them. The entire old body of this Jeep was replaced with 16-gauge metal sheet. It was then repainted in this bright red color to make it stand out. This, however, was not the original color of this Jeep. The family has also fitted this particular Jeep with a set of new sporty 6-spoke aftermarket alloy wheels. Originally, it came with steel wheels.
1969 Mahindra CJ 3B Jeep: Powertrain
This particular CJ 3B has also been given a new engine. The family replaced its old engine with a new high-speed direct injection engine back in 1990. The exact information on the power figures of this engine has not been mentioned. As for the transmission, this SUV gets a 3-speed manual gearbox. Apart from this, the Jeep also gets a proper 4X4 setup with both high and low ratio gearboxes.
