Although the GR Corolla is exceptionally powerful for a three-cylinder car, it’s not nearly as powerful as the best of the breed. Koenigsegg managed 600 horsepower from the Gemera, which we’re still waiting for, while Nissan’s experimental ZEOD RC with 400 hp appeared at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014. There was also the 369-hp BMW i8 hybrid, but it needs its electric motor to outmuscle the Toyota.
