The video has been circulating on various social media platforms. In the footage, which has now gone viral on the X platform, we see a woman standing in the middle of a busy road in Bengaluru. The dashcam car is moving in the same lane where the woman is standing. The driver spots the woman from a distance and attempts to change lanes to avoid her.
However, the woman had other plans. As soon as she noticed the car moving in a different direction, she started moving with it. The driver applied the brakes long before reaching the woman. Nevertheless, to create a dramatic scene, she jumped right in front of the car and fell onto the road, pretending to have been hit.
The entire incident was recorded on the dashcam. She then got up and began staring at the driver. We can hear the driver shouting that they are calling the police. However, the woman was not interested in listening. She placed her hand on the car’s bonnet and began saying something, likely claiming that she wouldn’t move because the car had hit her.
She might have been asking for compensation, claiming the car hit her. When she realized the driver was not getting out of the car and remained calm, she started looking for other vehicles. She then moved away from the car to the next lane, presumably planning to jump in front of another car and demand compensation for an alleged hit.
Such scams are common not just in Bengaluru, but in other parts of the country as well. We have seen people throw eggs on car windshields at night to loot the occupants. Similarly, there have been instances where bikers intentionally crash into cars, blame the drivers, and demand compensation.
The entire incident was recorded by the dashcam, which ultimately worked in favor of the driver. Even if the driver had accidentally hit the woman, he had evidence to prove his innocence. While we have come across several road rage incidents in Bengaluru, this is likely the first time we have encountered a scam like this.
A dashcam is an essential accessory for any car, as it can save you from various problems. It can act as a security device, monitoring and alerting you to any attempts of robbery or accidents when you are not near your vehicle.
