Daniel Arsham takes his iconic artistry to the track.
Goodwood is one of the most celebrated motorsport hubs, with the Goodwood Festival of Speed every year and various other events preserving the incredible heritage of the historic venue. Coming soon is the Goodwood Revival, a historic racing event that celebrates the decades of motorsport that have culminated in the racing world we see today.
Team Ikuzawa, founded by the legendary Tetsu Ikuzawa, is a racing team participating in this year’s Goodwood Revival, built on the racing legacy Tetsu built as a racing driver in the 1960s through the 1980s. His daughter, Mai Ikuzawa, helps carry on the legacy with her motorsport-inspired contributions to the art, design, and fashion worlds, and the latest creation is a collaboration between Team Ikuzawa and the iconic Daniel Arsham.
With his unique artistic vision and particular affinity for Porsche, Arsham has contributed to the bespoke livery that will adorn the Porsche 904 race car that Team Ikuzawa is racing at Goodwood Revival this weekend. The race car combines the historic 1980s minimalist Team Ikuzawa livery with one of Daniel Arsham’s most iconic motifs: lunar phases.
Along with the livery, Team Ikuzawa, Daniel Arsham, and Goodwood will also release a new fashion capsule collection with clothing and accessories inspired by the livery and by the combination of Ikuzawa’s rich Japanese heritage and Daniel Arsham’s unique artistry, as well as the British pedigree of Goodwood. The collection will debut at Goodwood during the 2024 Goodwood Revival and will be available for purchase online at the Team Ikuzawa shop afterward.
