Truck falls on Honda Elevate

The Honda Elevate is currently the only SUV sold by the Japanese car manufacturer in India. It is a mid-size SUV that competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in the segment. When compared to other cars in the segment, the Elevate misses out on several premium features. A detailed first-drive review of the Elevate is available on our website and YouTube channel. Here, we have a new video that shows how the Honda Elevate performed after a fully loaded truck fell on the SUV.

The video has been shared by Raftaar 7811 on their YouTube channel. The exact location of the accident is not known. The Honda Elevate seen here is registered in Gujarat, while the truck is registered in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. We are assuming that the accident happened somewhere in Gujarat.

In the video, we see the truck, which was carrying a heavy load, fall on its side. The truck fell on the left side, and unfortunately, the Honda Elevate was on that side of the truck. If you look carefully, the truck was probably carrying metal pipes. The pipes, along with the truck itself, fell on the SUV.

The video doesn’t show a closer view of the car from the accident spot, but from what we can see, the Honda Elevate managed the situation pretty well. It looks like the fender and pillar of the car absorbed the impact effectively. While we don’t see the front windshield, it looks like the windscreen was also damaged upon impact.

The video doesn’t provide many details about the accident. It is unclear whether the truck lost balance while taking a turn or after falling into a pothole and tipped over, or if something else caused the accident. We also have no information about the occupants in the car. It doesn’t look like a car that was parked on the roadside.

The occupants, including the driver, would have likely escaped from the co-driver side of the car. The Honda Elevate has definitely performed well in this accident, and it shows that Honda has not compromised on the build quality of this SUV.

This is not the first time we have come across an accident like this—there was a similar case where a huge dry tree fell onto the roof of a brand-new Honda Elevate SUV.

That accident happened right outside a Dakshin Honda dealership in Bengaluru, located behind the Bowring Institute. The trunk of a dried tree on the street fell on the car parked under it. Just like in the truck video, the Honda Elevate performed well in that crash. The front windshield was damaged, but the pillars and roof of the SUV absorbed the impact quite effectively.

The Honda Elevate has not undergone any official crash tests, but the Japanese manufacturer mentioned during its launch that in their internal crash tests, the SUV performed exceptionally well.

Honda highlighted that the Elevate underwent a series of rigorous crash tests, including front (offset) crash tests at 64 km/h and side-moving barrier tests at 50 km/h. It was also tested for flat barrier impacts at 50 km/h, side pole impact tests at 32 km/h, and rear-moving barrier tests at 50 km/h.
