Most Hindus, when they buy a car or any vehicle, perform certain rituals to seek the blessings of God. However, recently the German Ambassador to India was seen taking delivery of his new BMW i7 electric sedan and performing a few Hindu rituals. In particular, he was seen tying “Nimbu Mirchi” inside his sedan and breaking a coconut in front of his newly received BMW.

This video, showing the German Ambassador to India tying “Nimbu Mirchi” in his BMW i7 electric sedan, has been shared on X by ANI. It starts with the German Ambassador Philipp Ackermann being presented with his brand-new BMW i7 sedan. He first uncovers the luxury sedan and checks it from the outside.

Following this, he is then seen being handed over the unique digital key to the sedan, after which he can be seen attaching the German flag to the front left fender. The German Ambassador then gets handed “Nimbu Mirchi” twined on a thread.

Philipp Ackermann then sits in the front passenger seat and starts tying the “Nimbu Mirchi” on the IRVM. For those who may not be aware, tying “Nimbu Mirchi” to a vehicle, home, or shop is a tradition done to ward off evil spirits, negative forces, or the evil eye.

Soon after this, the German Ambassador can be seen being handed a coconut. It is also a very popular Hindu tradition to break a coconut in front of the vehicle, as it represents prosperity, removes negativity, and brings purity. Finally, he is given a bouquet, and the ceremony concludes.

Korean Ambassador to India also performed Hindu rituals

The German Ambassador to India performing Hindu traditions is not the first of its kind. Back in September of last year, the South Korean Ambassador to India also performed similar Hindu rituals during the delivery of his Hyundai Genesis GV80 luxury SUV.

A short video was shared by the Korean Embassy on their X page. In this clip, a Hindu pandit was seen performing all the Hindu rituals and helping the South Korean Ambassador Chang Jae-bok participate in them as well. It was noted that they first made a “Swastik” on the bonnet.
