Mahindra commenced the deliveries of the Thar Roxx on October 12th. Since then, the company has delivered a ton of Thar Roxx SUVs across India. Due to this, a number of owners are now sharing their ownership experiences of this SUV online. Recently, one such owner of a Thar Roxx MX5 4X4 shared his candid thoughts on this highly appreciated SUV.
This video of the Mahindra Thar Roxx ownership review has been shared on YouTube by Vahan Official on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger introducing the owner and his Mahindra Thar Roxx MX5 4X4 manual variant. He starts by asking the owner how he came to the decision of buying the Thar Roxx.
To this, he replied that he owns a Tata Punch micro-SUV and loves going to the mountains during holidays. The problem he was facing was that he had to rent other 4X4 vehicles like the Thar three-door and Jimny to explore the mountains. So, to solve this problem, he decided to upgrade to a 4X4 vehicle.
Why the Thar Roxx?
Following this, he revealed that he wanted to buy a Maruti Suzuki Jimny. However, his friends persuaded him to wait and buy a Mahindra Thar Roxx. So, he did exactly that, and on 15th August, he reserved one by calling his local dealership.
He added that the sales representative from his local dealership helped him a lot in the process. He explained that he managed to give them a reservation amount even before the official bookings commenced.
Also, the dealership sales representative helped him in getting delivery of his SUV on the 11th of October, a day before the official deliveries commenced. The owner highlighted that at the time of delivery, he had the option to choose either black or red color. So, he went with the black car.
How does it perform during off-roading?
Next, the vlogger asked the owner about the performance of the Thar Roxx 4X4 during off-roading. To this, the owner highlighted that so far, he has not taken the SUV to the mountains, but he has driven it in the fields and has done some light off-roading.
He added that so far, this SUV has really impressed him. The owner highlighted that although its wheelbase is bigger than both the Thar three-door and Scorpio-N, it can still tackle many obstacles with ease.
Is this the best value-for-money SUV?
Following this, the vlogger asked the owner about the details of the variant chosen by him. He explained that he opted for the MX5 4X4 variant with the manual transmission. He added that he paid Rs 23 lakh on-road, including a VIP registration number.
The owner highlighted that, according to him, this variant is the most value-for-money option. This is because it comes with all the essential features that any owner could use. Also, it is the most affordable 4X4 variant.
Other thoughts on the Thar Roxx
Next, he talked about the things he likes. He stated that this time around, Mahindra has added all the features that owners of the Thar three-door used to get from aftermarket shops in Karol Bagh. The main feature he highlighted is the LED headlights; he mentioned that the throw of these lights is very impressive.
Next, he moved to the interior of the SUV and talked about all the creature comforts and features offered with this SUV. Following this, he mentioned a few small negatives of this model, which are the white interiors and the smaller sunroof. He stated that the white interior gets dirty extremely quickly.
Additionally, he mentioned that this variant comes equipped with a smaller sunroof, as the panoramic sunroof is offered in the top-spec trims. However, he added that this is not a dealbreaker for him, as the small sunroof is enough for his needs.
After this, the owner talked about the mileage of this SUV and mentioned that, after driving it for some time, it is offering a decent mileage of around 12-14 kmpl. He then added that both he and his wife can easily drive this SUV, and overall, they are very happy with their purchase of the Thar Roxx.
