Bollywood actors and their luxury cars have been featured on our website several times. Actress Wamiqa Gabbi, known for her roles in many Hindi and other regional language movies, recently shared a video on her Instagram page where she is seen taking delivery of her new ride. Unlike other actors in the industry, Wamiqa Gabbi did not opt for luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz or BMW. Instead, she bought a Jeep Meridian SUV worth Rs 40 lakh.
The aforementioned video was shared by the actress on her Instagram profile. In the video, she is seen at a Jeep dealership in Mumbai, displaying immense excitement for her new car. Upon reading the video’s caption, we learn why she is so thrilled. The Jeep Meridian that Wamiqa has purchased is actually her first car. The actress expresses in her post that this is a feeling she will never experience again in her life.

The post states, “I’m so grateful and thankful to my parents and my fans, who give me so much unconditional love… it’s unbelievable!! Thank you, everyone. I love you guys and I am also thankful to all the animals that have come into my life to teach me valuable lessons of life and love. Love is the ultimate power that anyone can have, and I feel powerful.”
Wamiqa Gabbi chose the Velvet Red shade for her Jeep Meridian, which looks exceptionally appealing on the SUV. The Jeep Meridian was launched in the Indian market last year and is based on the Jeep Compass, which was Jeep’s first product in the Indian market. We had the opportunity to drive the Jeep Meridian during the media drives, and a detailed review of it is available on our website. Jeep has made several changes to the SUV to differentiate it from the Compass.
The Jeep Meridian competes with cars like the Toyota Fortuner in its segment. It is a global SUV sold under the name Commander internationally. Both SUVs are identical in terms of looks and features, with the only difference being the name. The SUV comes with features such as a panoramic sunroof, leather seat covers, a floating-type infotainment screen, automatic climate control, and ventilated front seats, among others. The exterior design of the SUV is similar to that of the Compass facelift, featuring LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and the signature Jeep grille at the front. The side profile of the SUV also resembles the Compass but is slightly longer to accommodate the third-row seats. The SUV sports distinct clear lens LED tail lamps. It is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine as the Jeep Compass, generating 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. Currently, it is only available with a diesel engine, offered with a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. Price for Jeep Meridian starts at Rs 32.95 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 38.52 lakh, ex-showroom. Details regarding the exact variant that Wamiq bought is not available at the moment. Apart from Wamiqa, popular model Uorfi Javed also owns a Jeep Meridian in her garage.
