Acura Announces Its First Fully-Electric SUV, The New Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S

Acura is powering into the future with its all-new electric Acura ZDX SUV. Launching in 2024 to provide customers with an exceptional driving experience and style vision, the ZDX marks a new era for electrified performance. The ZDX will feature much of what drivers saw from Acura’s recent Precision EV Concept at Monterey Car Week – pushing boundaries and providing an exciting driving experience.

Acura and General Motors have partnered to revolutionize electric vehicle design with the upcoming ZDX. This groundbreaking model utilizes a flexible global platform and Ultium batteries for maximum efficiency, paving the way for Acura’s new lineup of EVs launching in 2026.

“The Acura ZDX represents the start to what will be an accelerated path toward electrification by the end of the decade and the key role the Acura brand will play in our company’s global goal to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050,” said Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales. “Acura will remain focused on performance in the electrified era, and Type S will continue to represent the pinnacle of this direction.”

As Acura’s first-ever zero-emissions SUV, the ZDX is a salute to Acura’s past history. The model name traces its roots back to when the brand opened its Design Studio in Los Angeles in 2007 – where it was styled from the ground up. This legacy continues today as all current models are envisioned and crafted within this same studio.

In April 2021, Honda’s Global CEO Toshihiro Mibe unveiled an ambitious plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. As part of this strategy, Mibe declared that 100% of the company’s North American sales would be electric vehicles within 20 years. With these lofty goals in mind, it is clear that Honda is determined to leave a lasting mark on sustainable mobility and reduce its environmental impact worldwide.
