Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has bought a brand new Toyota Vellfire. She was recently spotted arriving at Mumbai airport in the Vellfire. She was travelling to the IIFA awards. Auto paparazzi soon took note of the new car, and pictures and videos of the same are now doing rounds on the internet.
Aishwarya Rai has bought the luxurious VIP Executive Lounge version of the Vellfire. The actress has a net worth of over 800 crores, interestingly more than her husband Abhishek Bachan’s. Not very active in the industry these days, Aishwarya is the face of multiple brands here. She was also noted for her role in Ponniyin Selvan, as the actress does both Tamil and Bollywood movies.
Now let us come to Aishwarya Rai’s latest acquisition- the Toyota Vellfire VIP Executive Lounge. The Vellfire is one of the most luxurious and comfortable MPVs on sale in India. This four-door MPV is known for its ‘caravan-like’ experience and is a popular pick among celebrities and the affluent. Several B-Town celebs like Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn etc also have this MPV in their respective garages.
Toyota Vellfire VIP Executive Lounge: An Overview
It was in August 2023 that Toyota launched the newest generation Vellfire in India. It is available in two variants- Hi and VIP, of which the latter alone is available with the Executive Lounge package. The ex-showroom price of the Vellfire VIP Execute Lounge version is 1.30 Crores.
The design looks interesting. Key highlights include a large six-slat grille and split headlamps. LED DRLs sit at the lower part of the headlamps. The new MPV also comes with a U-shaped chrome strip running along the width of the front bumper.
The glasshouse is now a single unit and comes with a kink and blacked-out pillars. The vehicle’s design is loud about being a Vellfire even while it stands fresh to some extent.
On the inside, the layout and experience improved on the 2023 model. The dashboard now looks clean and simple. There are fewer buttons around and more functions are now integrated into the central display. This touchscreen is now a big 14-inch unit. The seat design and upholstery have been improved. An overhead console for controlling various vehicle functions, multiple AC vents and newly designed pull-down sun shades have now been added.
The VIP Executive Lounge is the range-topping spec of the Vellfire and comes with an extremely comfortable and luxurious cabin. It offers a premium lounge-like experience with cosy captain chairs for the middle row. These are ventilated, heated and come with retractable tables. A detachable control panel now allows these occupants to adjust media, climate settings and sunshades. Other notable features are a heads-up display, a wireless charger, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat. The connected car suite offers 60+ functions.
The safety kit on the Vellfire VIP variant includes six airbags, stability control, park assist, hill assist control and Toyota Safety Sense ADAS.
The new Vellfire VIP Executive Lounge is underpinned by Toyota’s TNGA-K modular platform, which also forms the base for the Lexus LM. It is in fact, lighter than what it used to be on the previous Vellfire. Measuring 4,995mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,950mm in height, the Vellfire is a large vehicle.
It is powered by a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine that produces 193hp and 240Nm. It comes mated to an e-CVT transmission. The MPV has a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.28kpl.
