The video was shared by The Bus Junkie on their Instagram page. It was recorded on the dashcam of a car passing through a city road somewhere in Kerala. The road was wet from recent rain in Kerala. A small pickup truck was moving in front of the car, and the driver was maintaining a safe distance from it.
Suddenly, a Pulsar rider overtook the car from the right and moved ahead. Another biker following the Pulsar rider did the same. However, both of them failed to notice one thing: the pickup truck in front had started to slow down for some reason. The Pulsar rider in front applied brakes, possibly locking his front wheels and losing balance.
He fell onto the road. The other biker behind him also panicked and applied brakes. Both the biker and the pillion fell onto the road. Just as they fell, a private bus was approaching from the opposite direction. The bus driver’s view was obstructed by the pickup truck in front of the bikers.
The bus driver was not expecting riders on the road, and within seconds of the bikers falling, the bus was right in front of them. The driver swerved the bus away from the riders and drove it off the road. During this, the pillion on the second bike pulled the rider away from the bus’s tire.
Both the bikers and the pillion were lucky to have escaped without any injury. People who were on the side of the road ran over to check on the riders. A boy who was cycling nearby left his cycle and ran towards the riders. The alert bus driver stole the limelight here. If he had not turned the bus away from the riders in time, both the rider and the pillion would have been under the bus.

How Did This Happen?
The bikers were too close to the pickup truck, and they didn’t have enough time to slow down. In order to avoid crashing into the pickup truck, they applied the brakes hard. However, they probably forgot that the road was wet, and when they did so, the front wheels locked and lost traction. Both of them slipped and fell onto the road.
These reasons emphasize why we always urge people to ride slowly on wet roads or during rainy seasons. Ideally, your speed should be half of your normal speed during the rainy season, as visibility is low and the surface is slippery at this time.
